Discussion Meeting May 27th in Berlin: Migrants from post-soviet countries organise themselves

Discussion evening
Labour struggle against disenfranchisement

Migrants from post-soviet countries organise themselves

The exploitation of workers from non-EU countries can be found everywhere in Europe. One successful example of industrial action against disenfranchisement is the strike by lorry drivers from Georgia and Central Asia at the Gräfenhausen-West motorway service station near Frankfurt am Main in 2023. However, it will take more than just successful individual actions to improve the overall situation. In Sweden, the trade union Sveriges Arbetares Centralorganisation (SAC) offers migrants from post-soviet countries a platform to organise themselves. The event aims to provide an insight into their work and suggestions for asserting the rights of migrant workers.

With:
Pelle Sunvisson, Sveriges Arbetares Zentralorganisation (SAC) and author
N.N., lorry driver, participant in the 2023 strike

The event will be translated consecutively from Russian into German.
